Welcome To Fifty Five Is The New!

Hello out there!
What's it to you, turning the age of Fifty-five? You don't have to be turning it tomorrow, you could have already turned that corner a while back. That part doesn't matter so much.
While it's important what one feels, what matters most of all that one feels, that one feels anything at all.
So, as an exercise in self-examination and a way of getting over an incredible writer's block, I submit this blog to the World Wide Web, and I submit myself to a bit of mirror gazing.
Inspired by the movie "Julie & Julia," I will blog for one year, which will include my turning fifty-five, and see what I find.
Who knows? Maybe fifty-five will be something fantastic...like the New Me.

Work

We've been doing some more recording amid the political chaos.  I think it's best to keep the creative juices flowing, even in the midst of craziness.

Cruisin' to make the video for "You Drive"
We've re-recorded an old country song written by us a few years back: "Dusty Old Bar Stool." Jack says it's a classic two-step country dance tune. Sounds right to me.

We also wrote the melody for "Country By The Dock Of The Bay," lyrics written a few months back.
I'm so glad we're keeping up with the music.

For now, neither has a video but that will soon change.  We have the tunes up on our Sonicbids EPK (www.sonicbids.com/BargainBasementBand2) and on Jango internet radio.

We are working on the video for "You Drive," and are taking a little road trip soon to get some more footage including a much-needed view over a cliff from our car's passenger side window. Should be fun, interesting, a little hair raising and great visuals!

For today, Fifty Five Is The New Work...every day, something new to do to keep us active, young and alive.
