Welcome To Fifty Five Is The New!

Hello out there!
What's it to you, turning the age of Fifty-five? You don't have to be turning it tomorrow, you could have already turned that corner a while back. That part doesn't matter so much.
While it's important what one feels, what matters most of all that one feels, that one feels anything at all.
So, as an exercise in self-examination and a way of getting over an incredible writer's block, I submit this blog to the World Wide Web, and I submit myself to a bit of mirror gazing.
Inspired by the movie "Julie & Julia," I will blog for one year, which will include my turning fifty-five, and see what I find.
Who knows? Maybe fifty-five will be something fantastic...like the New Me.

Thoughts on Lennon

Life's getting busy again, but I wanted to write a few lines just in case things got away from me...because its important. Because I set a goal and am determined to follow it through....but mostly because my creative heart hungers for expression.

We've done some jamming with friends off an on through the years, and even had the chance to work at the local Lennon Studios-a facility funded by none other than the late Mr. Lennon (John) and his wife Yoko Ono.

Some people blame Yoko for breaking up the Beatles...they're wrong.  I think the whole thing just had a shelf-life.  Those guys couldn't go on doing the same thing anymore, they had to branch out and do what their individual internal creative beings needed to do.

That's how I feel about it, at any rate.
And I actually do like some of Yoko's music, poetry and artwork, by the way.

So for today, Fifty Five Is The New Thoughts on Lennon....John that is.
